Job Flexibility
• Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis. (Hours: 3:00pm-11:20pm)

The Business Unit Supervisor will coach, facilitate, and drive production team performance within a defined business unit. They will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. They will also leads and develop site Operations Specialist, maintains excellent customer contact, manages all financial aspects of the position.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Achieves operational MOS performance.
  • Coaching of teams, and providing both technical expertise and Human Relations skills, in order to assist the team with problem solving, while maintaining ultimate responsibility for the team’s performance.
  • Responsible for training and development of the teams in Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Drive the team towards diagnosing problems and in implementing necessary modifications.
  • Communicate performance status to the production team and support team
  • Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Interprets company policies to teams and Interprets enforces safety regulations.
  • Facilitate team meetings and team training.
  • Maintain good customer and vendor relations.
  • Coordinate machine repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Motivate teams to achieve team goals.
  • Develops and ensures that operating budgets are within forecasted levels.
  • Identifies and addresses strengths and weaknesses of production team members through training, counseling, and corrective action when required.
  • Partners with materials, engineering, maintenance and quality to achieve area performance goals
  • Administer performance reviews with team members.

Job Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school Diploma/GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment including a minimum of 3 years in area supervision or Minimum of 5 years local production floor experience including a minimum of 3 year hourly supervisor experience..
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Experience in either fabrication, CNC or bench assembly processes

This position is eligible for Cummins-Meritor’s Incentive Compensation Plan, which offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
