Job Summary: This position reports to the Purchasing Manager. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment. The Buyer, at the direction of the Manager, meets with vendors or suppliers, evaluates their solutions, reviews proposals and selects suppliers. Responsible for negotiating terms and prices of items purchased from given suppliers, evaluates the ongoing value of items purchased and recommends to management when changes are favorable.

Shift:

Morning: 8-12 Hr shifts, Monday - Friday and weekends when requested.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.The Buyer Is a key member of the Purchasing department and works closely with the Purchasing Manager on procurement activities.

2.Initiates purchase orders for raw materials, machine parts, services and/or special tools.

3.Secures competitive quotations and summarizes results. Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness.

4.Using available resources, researches the market to identify product substitutes and new suppliers.

5.Assures proper levels of inventory which includes, glass, consumables, manufacturing components and production equipment.

6.Works closely with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and resolve all issues regarding on-time performance and quality.

7.Responsible for organizing and managing the delivery of glass and hardware.

8.Takes part on the daily production meeting.

9.Perform other assigned task and duties necessary to support the needs of production.

Physical Requirements:

· Able to move/lift to 50 lbs.

· Long periods of standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing, bending and stooping.

· Able to lift overhead

Skill requirements:

1.Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience

2.Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

3.Should have the ability to effectively manage time and lead a team of subordinates.

4.Good organizational and administration skills.

5.Overseas sourcing is a plus.

You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test (5 Panel Drug Screen).

Steel toe shoes or boots are required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
