We are accepting applications for our 2023 Summer Day Camp!

Would you like to make a difference in our community and have fun too? If your answer is a resounding "Yes!" Prime Home Developmental Disability Services is looking for ENTHUSIASTIC counselors to join our summer program for teens and young adults ages 12-20 with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our summer day camp is located in Papillion.

Counselors will work in a hands-on program with activities while providing a safe and enjoyable environment that provides for opportunity to explore new experiences. Our Camp revolves around but not limited to these activities: field trips, soccer, softball, games, arts and crafts in a summer camp environment.

Counselors will help with activities of daily living, behavioral supports/intervention and assistance with individual program goals/personal achievements.

Requirements:

• Available for the dates of May 30 - August 4, 2023.
• Employment can start earlier and continue sub-time throughout the year.
• Available approximately 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Friday.
• Current valid driver's license.
• Pass background checks
• Valid vehicle insurance.
• Ability to build trusted relationships.
• Positive role model for participants by exhibiting an upbeat, cooperative, and friendly attitude at all times.
• Be a problem–solver, but ask for help when necessary.
• Be punctual, organized, follow directions, able to assist and care for all of the participant's needs.
• Meet physical requirements of working outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, lifting up to 20 lbs., pushing/exerting force of pushing wheelchairs with individuals, walking, standing, running, climbing, driving, maintaining line of site on clients.

Desired Qualifications:

• Personal or formal experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities
• Pursuing or possessing a degree in education, recreation, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology or related field preferred.
