Shaw is looking for several Carpenter Foreman for our Self-Perform Concrete and Framing groups. This position will perform work throughout the Front Range of Colorado.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Possesses a high level of carpentry skills. Owns hand tools and can operate all carpentry tools proficiently.
  • Production Management
    • Crew Planning
    • Material ordering and inventory
    • Production tracking
    • Scheduling
    • Coordination with GC and other trades
  • Site Safety
    • Ensure safety compliance for all framing operations
    • Attend weekly toolbox safety meetings
    • Responsible for site cleanliness pertaining to framing
  • Equipment Operation
    • Requisition of equipment
    • Operation of equipment, forklifts, scissor lifts and man lifts
    • Equipment inspection forms filled out and submitted daily
    • Ensuring a maintenance and service schedule is adhered to
    • Permitting operation of equipment to certified workers
    • Coordination of fueling
  • QA/QC Program – Backout to Punch
    • Assuring all framing is correct
    • Backing and blocking is in place
    • Code requirements are being met including ADA clearances
    • Observations/Inspections entered and cleared in Procore

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. Performing this job requires use of hands to, handle, objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Education / Experience

  • High School or GED level education preferred.
  • Experience in a construction related field.
  • Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operations.
