We are a small, niche drayage company that is adding trucks for a new Port of Charleston import customer. We need to hire 2 qualified drivers quickly. TWIC required. First loads arrive May 5th. Most of the work will be 180 mile round trips between the Port of Charleston and Lake City, SC, hauling 54,000lbs of dry freight on company chassis. We do use the chassis pools when we get really busy. If the imports are slow, we switch to hauling 53' vans from Lake City to NC. This customer is very generous and gives us all the loads we want. We lease modern, automatic Volvo and Freightliner trucks from Penske. ELD's with forward facing dash cams. Since we will have occasional TL work from Lake City, the ideal candidate would live in that region. We can deliver 24/7 to the Lake City warehouse. Therefore, we hope to do a slip seat and have 2 shifts per truck. We will start with 3 drivers for 2 trucks (day cab and a sleeper) as a test and hope to move to 4 drivers soon after, so you need to have respect for the other driver you share the truck with. We want to achieve 2 roundtrips between the Wando and Lake City per truck per shift when free time allows it. Drop and hook in Lake City. We are looking for a drop yard on 41 now for when we are out of free time and focus on local pre-pulls.

$35/hour + overtime + healthcare for you and your family + long term disability.

We need you to pass pre-employment and post employment drug screening. 2 years of Class A CDL experience minimum. TWIC. MVR needs to be pretty clean. Basic Spanish is helpful/desired for working with the customer and our dispatch, but not required. Forklift experience is desired. Occasionally we have to unload with a forklift. Weekend work available when we are busy.
