Overview:
Pay range for certified pharmacy technician is $17.85-$21.00/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
Starting pay for non certified phamacy technician is $17.05. Must obtain certification within 1 year of hire date.
First and Second shift rotation; working every other weekend and holiday.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties. Continually standing or continually walking/traversing at least 200 yards. Lifts/moves/carries objects up to 60 pounds on a continual basis. Continually reaching and lifting 30 pounds forward and above shoulder.
Qualifications:
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification within 2 years of initial licensure or within 2 years of hire, if the original date of Illinois Pharmacy Technician license is prior to January 1, 2008
1 year pharmacy experience.
Other requirements/information: Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: At least 16 years of age and is attending or graduated from an accredited high school or comparable school or educational institution or GED
Licenses/Certifications: Pharmacy Technician License in Illinois or Michigan (dependent on location of employment) OR must be willing to acquire a Pharmacy Technician License in Illinois or Michigan (dependent on location of employment) by date of hire.

Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
