We are providing outstanding, reliable and transparent veterinary care to our local community from preventive care, digital X-rays, ultrasound, general anesthesia, full range of a soft tissue surgery, advanced dentistry, digital dental x-rays in a computerized system.
Position Summary
Veterinary technician (Pet nurse) handles inpatient and outpatient care, working hand-in-hand with veterinarians. The veterinary technician assists in exam rooms by taking patients’ history, vital signs and weight; preparing vaccines; collecting samples and running diagnostic tests; providing client education; and assisting with animal restraint. Veterinary technician prepares surgery/dental procedure, anesthesia monitoring, assisting surgery/dentistry, patient recovery surgery admission and discharge. Veterinary technicians also may see their own appointments for procedures such as suture removal, nail trim, vaccine administration, long-term medication monitoring testing, boarding check-in exams when a doctor exam is not required,.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Veterinary Science, Veterinary Technology, Animal Health or Baccalaureate Degree in Natural Sciences
- Experience as part of a degree program or 2 years experience working with animals
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Licenses and Certifications
- Must be able to handle fractious animals; Potential exposure to animal bites and scratches, needles and other sharp instruments, infectious agents, radioisotopes, human xenografts, toxic chemicals and radiation
