Walker Methodist River Heights seeks a Chef Manager to join their team. In this position you will supervise cooks, including participation in the selection, training, and development of cooks. Prepare meals according to therapeutic diets and preferences. Assist in the preparation of menus and all aspects of food preparation, including managing the quality control of all food prepared. Responsible for management of ordering food, food inventory, and customer service satisfaction as assigned and needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
  • Follow resident-specific therapeutic diets.
  • Responsible for the quality of food served to residents, guests, team members, and catered events.
  • Responsible for sanitation of work and storage areas.
  • Responsible for assisting in the purchasing, receiving, storing, and rotating of all food and non-food items in clean store room, coolers, and freezers.
  • Responsible for maintain accurate and consistent records of food temperatures and equipment maintenance.
  • Implement and enforce infection control standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment to prevent contamination, disease, and accidents.
  • Provide department orientation and training to team members. Monitor team members performance and notify supervisor of issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow policies and procedures for quality of life, person-centered care, and trauma informed care according to role specific responsibilities (skilled only).
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor degree in the culinary arts, certified food manager required. Safe Serve Certification and/or Food Manager's License

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living setting.
  • Production management, cook to order, and restaurant-style dining.
