At the Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center, we conduct forensic interviews of children in a family-friendly environment utilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach and research-based, nationally-accepted standards for efficient, effective, and trauma-informed investigation and intervention practices.

General Description:

Works under the general supervision of the Program Director.

Provides Forensic Interviews at the Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center

Duties:

Coordinating community support services for victims.

Conducts forensic interviews as requested

Develop and coordinate training opportunities for victim advocates and multi-disciplinary team members

Assist in expanding and enhancing local services and programs available to crime victims

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualification is a Associate's in Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Human Services or related field. The ideal candidate will have a working understanding of the dynamics of victim related crimes such as domestic violence and criminal sexual conduct. The candidate will have completed Forensic Interview training through the Prosecuting Attorney's Association of Michigan (PAAM).

Skills and Knowledge:

1. Experience providing logistical and facilitation support for meetings and trainings

2. Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information from multiple sources

3. Working knowledge of criminal justice process

4. Working knowledge of the dynamics involved for victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault

5. Advanced computer skills

6. Ability to work well with victims who have experienced a traumatic event

7. Knows how to conduct child Forensic Interviews

8. Knowledge of community services and resources

Personal Qualities:

1. Well organized analytical and diplomatic skills with strong written and verbal communication

skills including negotiation.

2. Capacity to work effectively with partnering agencies

3. Ability to ethically empathize with victims

Travel: Travel may be necessary for attendance at trainings and forensic interviewing services several times a year. This will usually require overnight stays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
