Job Summary

Grant Funded Job

Under the direction of the CIOS director, the Community Outreach Coordinator works with the Cancer Institute medical director, the clinical and research staff of CIOS to communicate various new programs and research initiatives to the community and clinical staff. The Community Outreach Coordinator supports ongoing development with community stakeholders and organizations associated with the Prisma Health Cancer Institute. Assists with the coordination of communication from Prisma Health Cancer Institute in social media platforms and web pages in conjunction with media department. Monitors and tracks outcomes data from new program and research initiatives in CIOS.

Accountabilities

• Responsible for implementation of various aspects of community outreach by the PH Cancer Institute including event coordination, writing copy, coordinating print, and social media. May include additional support of marketing and OPP tactics. 35%
• Represents PH Cancer Institute and Cancer Support Community at various PH supported or co-sponsored community events. Solicits and helps to organize employee, survivor and volunteer participation. Schedules necessary resources and ensures adequate supply of collateral materials. Assist with event set up and clean up as necessary. 15%
• Participates in and contributes to project teams assigned to develop and implement survivorship, cancer screening and cancer prevention plans for the PH Cancer Institute. 15%
• Assists with PH Cancer Institute and OPP functions by tracking and coordinating requests. Coordinates resources utilized for community outreach events. Provides annual reporting and coordinates annual reports or presentations. 10%
• Works as part of multidisciplinary project teams collaborating with various members of CIOS for student services, developing internship's, orienting new students or organizations and working with our Office of Student Services to coordinate these types of rotations. 10%
• Supports partnership's with key groups and organizations in the community. Develops associated marketing and PR materials and coordinates events and site visits with these partners. 10%
• Provide high level of support for activities involving the PH Cancer Institute with executive leadership. Under the direction of the executive leadership team at the PH Cancer Institute, assists with the arrangement of celebrations, physician or advisory counsel functions etc. Working with the lead of these events, helps to schedule and make arrangements for food, event location, event publicity, scheduling and participation of key community leaders. 5%
