Cisco Network Engineer (Santa Clara, CA)

We are looking for a Cisco Network Engineer for our client, a County in the State of California. The focus of this role is to design, implement, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and test routers, switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points (WAPs).

This contract position is long-term with funding approved every 12 months (extensions likely), 40 hours per week role. Since most of the network equipment must be deployed and brought online during off-business hours, working off-business hours and/or weekends will be required. This is an onsite role at our client's office in Santa Clara, CA. The preferred candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the offices in Santa Clara, CA.

This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, configure, deploy, troubleshoot and test of routers, switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points (WAPs). Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve urgent networking issues.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in preparing, configuring, deploying, and testing various network devices and services such as routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, UPS, PDUs, closet maintenance, and preparing network diagrams and documentation. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving urgent networking issues. Experience in using Infoblox, SolarWinds, StruxureWare, and Firepower management console. Cisco Certified Network Professional certification is desired.
