Civil Project Engineer

Job type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000-$100,000 DOE
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer in Glendale, CO. As a Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Understanding project scope: You will be responsible for understanding the scope of the project and ensuring that engineering documents and computations are prepared accordingly.
- Project development: You will possess an ability to take a project from concept through construction plan design, development, and the permitting process.
- Attending meetings with the project team: You will attend meetings with the project team to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the project is progressing as planned.
- Communicating with clients, municipalities, and agencies: You will communicate with clients, municipalities, and agencies as directed, ensuring that all parties are informed and that the project is progressing according to plan.
- Preparing drawings and construction documents: You will be responsible for preparing drawings and construction documents using CAD and/or Microstation.
- Directing CAD Technicians: You will direct CAD Technicians on simple assignments, ensuring that all work is completed accurately and on time.
- Modifying plans as needed: You will modify plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients, ensuring that all parties are satisfied and that the project can move forward.
- Providing construction-related services: You will provide construction-related services, including preparing permit applications, cut sheets, and quantity estimates, as well as performing construction observations.
- Preparing calculations: You will prepare calculations for storm drain, water systems, and develop earth quantities, as well as prepare grading, utility, and roadway plans.
- Following CAD standards: You will follow and apply CAD standards, ensuring that all work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Performing quality checks: You will perform quality checks on all work, and work of other designers, to ensure complete and accurate plans are provided to engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering project management.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of construction codes and standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
