Job description

Do you enjoy working outdoors and being part of a team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity in our Civils Construction team for a Construction Team Leader.

The role

Our Civils Construction team provides a vital in-house design and build service by helping to ensure we construct and maintain the assets that supply water and provide sewerage services to our 2.8 million customers.

As a Construction Team Leader, it will be your responsibility to lead operatives in carrying out construction site activities, including excavation, pipe-laying, operating plant, general groundworks and concreting. You will do this as instructed by the site management team to ensure that all works are completed and compliant with company policies and procedures.

Previous construction site experience is required, together with great communication skills and a willingness to travel across the region and get involved. You will also be required to attend and participate in team briefs, safety updates and workplace communications to ensure the works are carried out safely and to the best possible standard. You will be working within a great team which works outdoors in all weathers and deals with different challenges every day, providing a vital service to our client.

What do I need?

These roles are site based and we have sites all around our region. We’re looking for people with a positive, can-do attitude, who will motivate and encourage our operatives to be the best they can be.

Safety is key for us and we’re looking for people who can be an ambassador for all things health, safety and wellbeing related. We will need you to hold a valid driving license so that you can get to our (often remote) sites and operate plant.

Our ideal candidate will have relevant construction site experience and undergone training for this role. However, training can be provided for the right candidate.

Benefits for you

  • Pension – up to 20% combined contribution.

  • Opportunity to buy and sell up to five days’ holiday.
  • Health benefits package.
