Job description
Hours: 25 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Communicate with caregivers of a diverse client population about healthcare services, appointments, insurance, paperwork and payments needed
- Check-in clients, take payments, and maintain electronic medical records
- Maintain HIPAA training and standards, including maintaining confidentiality of client information
- Schedule rooms in the on-line scheduling system
- Reserve and print parking passes for the clients
- Submit custodial needs and cleanup request
- Meet with clinicians regularly to assess service line needs
- Manage waitlist and clinic evaluation forms
- Respond to phone calls and emails inquiring about services or resources in the community
- Contribute to team effort by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs, including making regular suggestions that improve Sorenson Center process
- Supervise evening reception personnel
- Maintain a safe and clean reception area
- Help with ongoing Behavioral Health Clinic projects with an emphasis on the Marriage and Family Therapy and Housing and Financial Counseling division
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of professional experience in a reception or customer service position
- Basic understanding of HIPAA
- Reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated

- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Customer service experience in a healthcare setting
- Prior use of an electronic medical record system
- Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment
- Skilled with computer programs, including electronic medical record systems
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Skilled in creative problem solving and proactive in engaging in assigned tasks
- Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks flexibly, consistent with the needs of the clinic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential medical data and personal information
- Ability to work without supervision
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures
- Excellent customer service skills
