Veterinary Client Service Representative

Have you ever wanted to be on the front lines of innovation? Are you customer focused and enjoy providing top-notch hospitality? At VCA, we’re taking care of the future of veterinary medicine with an innovative approach to urgent care. As a Client Service Representative at VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care-Mira Mesa you will get to do just that. At VCA Urgent Care we like to do things differently to better serve our clients and their pets! For example, you won’t be bogged down by inbound phone calls, a front desk, financial transactions or check out responsibilities. Your top priority will be greeting clients, answering questions, and doing what matters most - helping our clients and their pets feel warm and welcome. Hometown care at its finest!

Our clients are appreciative there is a way for their pet to get the urgent care they need every day. Pet owners can join the virtual waiting room via the website and wait at home until they are notified via text to head into the hospital. This minimizes the wait time at the hospital and decreases the stress for the pet. The beautiful, well-designed lobby is where “coffee house meets spa” and provides unique spaces for pets and their owners. There are no ringing phones, slippery floors, loud noises or crowded waiting rooms. Once checked-in, all communication (from exam through checkout) is done in a private exam room with an individual Care Concierge to support the client and medical team.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome our clients and patients as they enter the hospital
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and set expectations for the visit
  • Use a mobile device to check the client in without being tied to a desk
  • Show the client a comfortable place to sit whether it’s a single chair, a couch, or in a semi-private area
  • Offer clients refreshment from the hospitality bar
  • Help keep the front space tidy and welcoming

Qualifications

  • Capable of listening to client concerns with desire to help solve their issues.
  • Action oriented, independent, self-starter, but also a strong team player
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Comfortable around animals

As a member of the VCA family, eligible full-time employees will be rewarded with a competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Health & Wellness

  • Innovative associate health and wellbeing department (Headspace app subscriptions, Vault financial wellness tool, and access to additional mental health resources)
  • 401k retirement savings plan with company match
  • Health/dental/vision insurance, infertility benefits, gender affirmation services
  • Paid parental, vacation and sick leave

Additional Benefits

  • Up to 100% Pet Care Discount for your own pets
  • 100% paid life insurance
  • 100% paid short-term disability insurance

Schedule: 5/8’s or half days. Full-and Part-time positions available. Hospital is open 7 days a week, 10am-8pm. One weekend day per week required.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $16.25-$17.00 / hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
