The Assessor conducts treatment assessments for clients to determine Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT) recommendations, as well as orientating them into the BHPN’s Care Path. The purpose of a BHPN assessment is to evaluate a client's strengths as well as areas of deficit to enable clinically appropriate recommendations including appropriateness of service and treatment intensity. Assessment results are intended to guide in the development of the client care path and treatment objectives when treatment is recommended.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Conduct BHT assessments for clients, orienting them to the BHPN while gathering clinical and medical information.
  • Conduct assessments which may include administering the Vineland.
  • Have working knowledge of assessing and addressing risk and the ability to escalate high risk clinical concerns to supervisor
  • Determine appropriateness for on-going BHT services or recommendation for start of BHT services
  • Review relevant reports and documentation as needed to complete assessment
  • Write all reports in a professional and eloquent manner
  • Be familiar with Care Path and BHT services provided by BHPN
  • As appropriate, coordinate with BHPN Clinical Case Managers to ensure appropriate BHT services
  • Responsible for the final review, authorization and submission of clinical reports to the funder
  • Document client complaints and grievances, and submit to the Quality department, per policy requirements
  • Conduct Investigative Reviews for the BHPN Quality department, and submit findings and recommendations associated
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:
  • Licensed Clinician - Psychologist, LMFT, MSW, SLP, PT, OT, or LCSW.
  • Have working knowledge of assessing and addressing risk and dangerous behaviors.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Familiar with the field of ABA, BHT, and knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children preferred
  • Familiar with administrating Vineland
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment
  • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/word processing software and excel
  • Ability to work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking
  • Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.
  • Frequent speaking and listening (50%) to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone.
  • Frequent sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the computer.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Ability to utilize computer and cell phone (iPhone).
  • Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must attend all required training.
