The Commercial Learning Manager – Clinical Learning Excellence plays an important role in bringing the ComEx ambition to life.

About the Learning Manager

The Learning Manager reports to the Learning Director, shaping learning plans and content, and delivering learning experiences for Global and US Commercial teams across assigned therapy areas. You will:

ALIGN

Serve as a ComEx Clinical Learning “quarterback” for the Therapy Area by:

  • Lead learning content design with extended team and vendor partners, deliver world-class learning experiences
  • Accelerate performance in Launch Experiences, Wave Learning, and Tailored Business Solutions
  • Serve as chief stakeholder manager
  • Create Learning Experience Plans with Learning Experience Specialist and Associate Director of Field Excellence
  • Partner with brand and sales leaders on priorities and outcomes, offering innovative business solutions
  • Global and Digital learning: Lead and coach the team toward outside-the-box thinking. Responsible for Global TTT, contact with global marketing teams, lead on project airplane.

Along with ComEx Leaders, ensure field leadership is aligned with launch and sales learning initiatives:

  • Align and implement department and commercial strategies, plans, and initiatives, modeling behaviors consistent with organizational culture, values, and policies
  • Champion inclusion, engagement, and accountability for making AstraZeneca a great place to work

DEVELOP & COACH

  • Develop Learning Specialists through actionable feedback in job performance areas, using a “player/coach” approach to model what good looks like as a direct extension of the Learning Director
  • Serve as primary ComEx R&I/V&I liaison with Sales Excellence Leaders
  • Recruit and support our top-talent pipeline
  • First point of escalation for struggling learners
  • Cultivate collaborative culture to drive innovation, pushing status quo in a spirit of constant improvement
  • Ensure diverse, inclusive approaches, reflecting our learners, patients, customers and colleagues
  • Partner with Learning Director to interview, select, and onboard new Learning Specialists
  • Manage ComEx rotational positions, summer interns, and visiting project team members
  • Oversee internal clinical learning experience, congress/conference participation

DESIGN

  • Oversee learning design and delivery, using technology and data insights to drive outcomes
  • Monitor clinical content reviews and project progress
  • Apply learning measurement framework to ensure consistent adherence to ComEx design and deliver processes
  • Innovate learning processes for launch, onboarding, product, simulations, and ongoing learning
  • Co-lead Wave Feedback sessions with Director and implement relevant coaching
  • Work with brand teams to integrate brand strategy into all learning content (new hire/advanced)
  • Ensure compliance guidelines and accountability are clear in learning material and experiences,
  • Global and Digital learning: Responsible for Global TTT, contact with global marketing teams
  • Lead execution of the ComEx Project Framework (project airplane)

DELIVER

  • Deliver learning solutions to sales teams to meet needs identified in the Commercial Learning plan, including product- and disease state-specific training
  • Translate brand strategy into field execution through high-impact, engaging learning experiences
  • Oversee onboarding for new sales representatives
  • Oversee product sales learning for existing and new products/indications, as well as patient-centric selling skills
  • Drive patient centricity in design and delivery, putting patients at the heart of each learning interaction
  • Ensure learning experiences support changing US commercial business needs, learning trends, practices
  • Develop post-learning performance support/reinforcement for behavioral change to improve performance outcomes

Essential for the role

  • Experience/Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in science or related healthcare field
    • Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare (ideally in assigned therapeutic areas)
    • 7+ years total relevant experience

  • Business acumen related to the dynamic healthcare marketplace
  • Understanding of therapy area market dynamics
