Job Duties and Requirements:

The Certified Medication Aide we select must possess a sincere passion for working with seniors, as well as have demonstrated knowledge of caregiving in a senior living community. This position is for a Certified Medication Aides (CMA)s that is a caring and compassionate individual that will have no problem providing hands-on assistance with the daily care needs of the residents including personal needs, grooming and hygiene, bathing assistance, social interactions, and occasional housekeeping, laundering, and meal assistance.

A primary responsibility of this position is to dispense medication and coordinate medication administration for all assigned residents and for routinely monitor the resident’s comfort and emergent needs.

We are looking for a committed individual with previous experience in a senior living setting, who have the ability to proficiently perform the required job duties detail below, which shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Proficiency in administering medication and completion of daily shift reports
  • Ability to manage the supply of medications
  • Ability to provide an accounting for all medications ordered, received, stored, and administered
  • Experience in documentation and completion of the task
  • The ability to work with electronics and be proficient at operating computers and internet-based software
  • The ability to manage assigned tasks within the scheduled shift
  • The ability to meet the physical and emotional needs of the resident
  • Aid in daily tasks such as housekeeping as needed, use of telephone, laundry as needed, and supply/mail delivery
  • Care for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of our residents
  • The ability to obtain, record, and report resident vital signs
  • The ability to observe and report changes in residents' condition and status
  • The ability to conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be certified as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and meet the state’s specific certification requirements
  • Possesses a minimum of one year experience in a Certified Medication Aide/Med Tech role for an Assisted Living, Independent Living, Skilled Nursing Facility or Memory Care community is preferred
  • The ideal candidate will be caring, organized, and able to multi-task
  • Six months of work experience in a retirement community setting is preferred
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
