Backyard Buddy and Warren Steel Specialties are seeking a fulltime CNC Machinist & Programmer. We are a quickly growing organization that specializes in manufacturing of automotive lifts and garage equipment. We offer a Four-day work week. Our schedule is Monday through Thursday, 10 to 12 hours a day.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled CNC Machinist & Programmer with advanced knowledge in setup and operation of CNC equipment. A self-starter with a positive attitude who is highly driven and focused on an efficient and safe production environment.

As the CNC Machinist, you will play an instrumental part in the day-to-day facilities and equipment operations of the Warren facilities. You will be a direct report to the 1stShift Supervisor and work closely with the Engineering and Operations Leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• CAM Programming for lathe utilizing Inventor HSM/Fusion.
• Programming experience in nesting and basic shape manipulation preferred utilizing software’s such as ProNest, AutoCAD, FlowPATH, FlowCUT, and Lantek Expert.
• Understand, interpret, and edit G-code programming for CNC Lathe, Waterjet & Plasma CNC Tables, and Strippit CNCTurret Punch.
• Machine setup and a good understating of best tooling selection and work holding practices.
• Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
• Understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets.
• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Properly and safely load, unload, and clean materials in CNC machinery.
• Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet and adjust for tolerance requirements.
• Daily overhead crane operation for various CNC plate processing machines.
• Forklift / Tow Motor Loading, unloading, and moving of tubing, plate, and pallets in regard to the operation of plasma and waterjet machines.
• Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
• Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
• Must have strong computer skills and the ability to understand proper documentation and organization.
• Strong to advanced measuring equipment skills.
• Ability to multi-task with machine set up and operation.
• Strong communication skills with Engineering and Operations Leadership.
• Proven ability to train operator level coworkers for machine operation.
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time with noisy machines in a fabrication shop environment, in temperatures, as well as humidity, that fluctuates in accordance with the season.
• Must wear proper personal protection equipment and comply with safety rules and policies.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, not limited to 50 lbs. as required.

Education and Experience:

• Associates Level Machinist Education and or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
• CAM programming minimum of 1-2 year’s experience.
• CNC setup preferred of 1-2 year’s experience.
• CNC operations preferred of 2-3 year’s experience.
• Preferred 5 or more years in manufacturing experience

Pay: $58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
