Collections Specialist

As a Collections Specialist for Benefit Recovery (BRG), you are responsible for managing and obtaining a recovery on an assigned portfolio of cases. Many companies in certain industries offer benefits such as tuition reimbursement, relocation, and sign-on bonuses to employees. Unfortunately, sometimes an employee doesn’t uphold their end of the bargain. In situations such as these, BRG’s Collections Specialists use company methods and training to negotiate the recovery of these benefits. To be successful in this role, you must be highly organized, can solve problems with critical thinking, be motivated by your individual accomplishments, and enjoy delivering a best-in-class client experience.

This position offers competitive guaranteed salary AND uncapped commission potential for completed recoveries

What Collections Specialists Do:

Negotiation:

• Negotiate payment terms to obtain the most efficient and expeditious recovery
• Secure full monetary conversion of balance owed on cases within your assigned portfolio
• Review and recommend action for slow paying accounts

Portfolio Management:

• Review and prioritize files to determine recovery potential
• Manage incoming calls and keep a record of customer interactions associated with various accounts
• Respond to correspondence/requests from our clients’ employees (both current and former) effectively and professionally through written and verbal communications
• Investigate historical data and supporting claims for each account
• Document all interactions and financial transactions in company database, including preparing and maintaining accurate accounting
