Summary of Duties:
The Pathway Program Assistant is an exciting new position that will collaborate in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of a NEW post-baccalaureate program within the College of Medicine that is scheduled to being in the Fall of 2024. The incumbent will be critical for supporting the students enrolled in the program, applicants each year, and the faculty involved. The post-baccalaureate program is supported by a Center of Excellence grant. The program will initially be geared toward tribal members that have been provided conditional acceptance to the WSU MD program.
This position will also support the coordination of the RISE Summer Academyfor undergraduate students in chemistry, education, life sciences, mathematics, or physics.
The selected candidate will work closely with administrators, staff, and faculty involved in these pathway programs. Responsibilities include making and documenting purchases for these programs, maintaining records pertaining to policies and procedures, the program expenditures, and organizing the activities and agenda for the programs.
Essential Job Functions:
- 45% Coordinate the Development of a Post-Baccalaureate Program
- 40% RISE Scholar Travel and Reimbursements
- 10% Catering
- 5% Other
Required Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Adobe and Microsoft software such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to format documents in Microsoft Word and track information in Microsoft Excel or other database. Ability to collate and edit information in Adobe PDF files.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must have valid driver’s license and ability to drive for work purposes.
- Must have ability to work flexible schedule, with the appropriate notice, including occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the area of community engagement
- Healthcare related training or experience.
- Experience with facilitating small and large group meetings and/or with public speaking.
- Marketing experience.
- Higher Education experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $2,890.00 - $3,821.00 per month
