Commercial Solar Construction Manager

Scope of Job:
Our team is looking for an experienced construction superintendent to manage our projects. You’ll supervise our staff and ensure projects are delivered on time. As a construction manager, your job duties will also include allocating and monitoring budgets. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with various people, such as construction workers, architects and engineers. In order to succeed, it’s important to know how to implement quality, health, and safety standards onsite. The Commercial Construction Superintendent is required to work in the Santa Clara office and will report directly to the company President & CEO.

Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
· Set performance goals and deadlines
· Plan construction processes
· Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget
· Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
· Monitor and report on project progress
· Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities
· Implement safety and quality guidelines
· Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
· Keep track of material stock and orders
· Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
· Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
Requirements and skills:
· Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role
· Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
· In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
· Familiarity with CAD software
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to lead and inspire
· Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field; Master’s degree is a plus
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, construction management, economics or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and a minimum of 5 years of work experience. A graduate degree is preferred.
· At least 2-3 years’ experience in project management, supply chain and/or construction projects in energy industry US power finance, trading, origination experience preferred.
· At least 2-3 years’ experience in managing a team.
· Experience interacting with vendors and service providers.
· Good understanding of financials, negotiation and problem solving skills
· Proven knowledge in complex CAPEX negotiations.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills.
· Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage competing tasks.
· Solar or storage development or procurement experience is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
· Requires working knowledge of the power and renewable energy market dynamics
· Preference for wind, solar and battery experience in US competitive wholesale electricity markets as well as vertically integrated markets
· Requires the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy and clean energy transition
· Experience supporting pricing, RFP responses, or renewable energy deals is preferred.
· Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills is required.
· Ability to maintain complex financial models using Microsoft Excel
· Excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
· Strong work ethic and detail-oriented
· Ability to quickly step into new tasks and adapt to new circumstances in a dynamic environment
· Sense of humor is a plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to $130,000.00 per year
