We are seeking a Communications & Engagement specialist to work alongside our Carriers Brokers and Dealers team. This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting project that will bring major changes to how the movement of waste is regulated and managed. The postholder will undertake business critical work allied with the Carriers, Brokers and Dealers (CBD) Regime Regulatory Reform Project.

As Internal Communications Specialist your main responsibilities would be:

• Developing and delivering an internal communication strategy in line with legislation and departmental policies.
• Managing a range of internal communications channels and key internal staff events
• Designing and implement a communication package detailing the changes and impacts of the regulatory reform to our internal staff, partners and customers.
• Assisting the team and help deliver detailed information and enhance connections with our customers and partners.
• Maintaining the intranet site and ensuring staff distribution lists are updated.

Essential

• Able to engage stakeholders and maintain relationships, managing expectations and adapting approach according to need
• Internal communications experience
• Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise own work, negotiating and delegating where appropriate
• Able to write for different audiences and channels and to convert technical / specialist information into an accessible format
• Able to produce newsletters, web content

Desirable

• Confident in use of SharePoint and other Microsoft applications
• Experience of communications evaluation
• Experience in chairing meetings / focus groups
