About Us
Telecommunications is a 24 x 7 department that serves many in the system including patients, patients family, physicians, employees and others directing calls through the system. Additionally they initiate critical pages such as Stemi team, Code Blues, Code 99's, weather issues, etc. and contact appropriate personnel. They perform a critical functions for the health system. They also monitor many items for the system.
Job Summary
Primarily responsible for the operation of the hospital switchboard. This includes answering external and internal calls and routing them as needed or requested. It includes contacting physicians and hospital personnel. The position monitors many hospital alarms, follows procedures to notify appropriate staff as documented, and documents actions taken. Responsible for notifications during emergency situations such as weather alerts. Effective communication is needed to excel in this position.
Preferred Requirements
Basic knowledge of healthcare industry.
Knowledge of computer data entry and look up .
