Overview:

Pascack Valley Medical Center has been awarded the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission in the area of Orthopedics (hip and knee), Sepsis and for Stroke. In addition, the medical center is a designated Stroke Center. Pascack Valley Medical Center is committed to offering excellent care to the local community through various hospital services including a Women’s Center, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center, Imaging and Diagnostics, Sleep Center, a Wound Care Center and a Center for Joint Replacement. In 2016, Pascack Valley Medical Center opened a brand new Emergency Department featuring over 22,000 square feet with all private exam rooms, fast track rooms for more efficient care and state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
Responsibilities:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for leading outreach programs and acting as a liaison between the hospital and community to promulgate health, and education programs supporting the hospital’s strategic initiatives and community health improvement plan.
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with key community organizations within service area including health departments, elected officials, social service groups, schools, faith-based organizations, senior centers, and employers to collaborate on health needs focusing on improved/preventative health status for the local community
- Support Marketing and Communications initiatives supporting hospital’s service lines and strategic objectives
- Plan, organize and implement education and symptoms-based programs highlighting Pascack Valley Medical Center employed and affiliated physicians
- Oversee and implement Pascack Valley Medical Center’s participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan, including coordinating health screenings through nursing directors or in collaboration with Hackensack Meridian Health
- Establish, maintain, and evaluate relationships within the community that foster collaboration and advancement of health comes
- In coordination with Marketing Specialist, develop content for educational flyers, community newsletters, and video library
- Represent Pascack Valley Medical Center at community health meetings and forums
- Participate and implement Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council Initiatives and events
- In conjunction with business development, and Emergency Department leadership, oversee Emergency Medical Services (EMS) relationship activities, including conducting EMS Task Force meetings, and implementing outreach efforts
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with health services emphasis
- Two or more years in direct or indirect healthcare experience
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Mater's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, or MHS)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment and maintain focus on customer service is essential
- Ability to be flexible and to adjust to changing priorities as needed
- Tech savvy
- Excellent team building and communication skills with proven track record of building successful partnerships
