The Community Resuscitation Engagement Officer (CREO) will drive the development ofcommunity resuscitation across the defined locality. The post holder will develop a sustainable
infrastructure that supports basic Life Support education and training. Coordinate the delivery of a
range of courses in basic Life Support skills across the area to members of the
public/organisations and community groups. The CREO will educate, train, and support the
community in heart health initiatives to maximise impact in community resuscitation and increase
the chances of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest, fully embedding the core principles of
the Chain of Survival. By utilising public health data that will enable targeted improvements in hardto-reach communities increasing resilience from within. This is a 2-year full time funded position.
- Develop and manage community resuscitation initiatives that support the delivery of North
- Develop and implement strategies for the placement of static site and public access AEDs/
- Develop relationships with hard-to-reach communities to identify gaps in:
o Availability of accessible defibrillators
o Increase education opportunities with these communities to embed the core
principles of the chain of survival
- Develop advice and deliver training programmes according to local need in schools and
- Develop and maintain working partnerships with business and local health care providers to
- Develop relevant partnerships with funded organisations and NHS partners both delivering
- Explore and develop other areas that may benefit from the program.
- Produce quarterly reports for the Community Engagement & Blue Light Collaboration

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
