Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for managing all telecommunications for Department of Health locations in Pinellas County.


Responsibilities include:

  • Implements moves, adds and changes for VoIP system, including voice mailboxes, auto-attendant messaging, and call routing and coordinates with vendors to address any operational issues.
  • Manages cellular device ordering, activation/deactivation, inventory and assignments for staff.
  • Supports TB Video Directly Observed Therapy (VDOT) cellular devices and staff access to video repositories.
  • Serves as local administrator for Avaya hosted VoIP, Cell Bill Verification System, InTune and cellular provider portal.
  • Manages answering service vendor for phone coverage for non-business hours and updates contact information for afterhours issues.
  • Coordinates for English/Spanish recordings of special system greetings, messages on hold, and answering service announcements as needed.
  • Provides project management of all telecommunication projects for the agency.
  • Coordinates installation/tracking and troubleshooting of analog lines when needed.
  • Supports electronic faxing applications and analog fax machines.
  • Supports and trains staff on the use of telecommunication equipment.
  • Provides reports for supervisors and managers on call accounting as requested.
  • Travels to various locations throughout the county to provide support.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications software and hardware.
  • Knowledge of desktop computer operations and peripheral equipment.
  • Skill with supporting and administering VoIP systems.
  • Skill with diagnosing and resolving telecommunication issues.
  • Skill in communicating technical information effectively.
  • Ability to think logically and to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to plan, organize and independently coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to support users on cellular equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of work experience supporting and managing telecommunications services for 200+ users.
  • 3-5 years of work experience administering a VoIP system
  • 3-5 years of work experience with mobile device management
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of experience with network administration
  • 1 or more years of experience with Azure
  • Any technical certifications including Microsoft, Network +, CTSME, etc.
