Summary:
Goldbelt Peregrine Technical Solutions is looking for a Computer Support Specialist. The candidate responsible for this position shall provide computer support services for the Training Branch within US Coast Guard C5CEN Portsmouth responsible for training USCG personnel to operate and maintain workstations (desktop and laptop), servers, overhead projectors, and Buffalo Graphics simulators.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide Training Branch computer support services to effectively maintain and manage computer and electronic-based classroom on site and exportable classroom equipment identified above that support the training branch.
- The classroom maintenance will be conducted at C5CEN.
- Conduct setups, testing and breakdown of audio video equipment and Public Announcement systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware problems for desktops, laptops, printers, etc.
- Document and ensure “best business practices” documentation is kept current.
- Provide an overview and initial setup.
- Provide users creative solutions to problems with respect to their application permissions.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report bugs to senior support staff.
- Perform Quality Assurance for monthly product releases to ensure existing customer issues are resolved and new issues are prevented.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to accurately manage, track and maintain licenses.
- Network Maintenance- maintain and support computer network components (e.g., cables, fiber optics, switches, routers, and hubs).
- Maintenance and support efforts consist of but are not limited to identification and correction of deficiencies; scheduling planned outages to minimize impact on operations; and identifying areas of improvement; and coordination of remote connections.
- Must create, delete, and transfer user profiles, Email distribution groups, and control folder access.
- Maintains and administrates servers, shared drive folders, and monitors overall storage capacity.
- Must have an analytical mindset and ability to troubleshoot/test use cases and issues in software.
- Ability to manage workload based on changing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of Tier 1 Administration level experience in the maintenance and management of computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, and computer networks including WAN/LAN
- Experience with Video/Audio systems.
- Providing support for video teleconferencing and public address (PA) Systems
- Certifications Required:
- CompTIA Network +
- Security +
Preferred Qualifications:
- USCG experience desired, but not required.
