STARTING SALARY: $11.70-$13.00/hour

STATUS: Seasonal (part-time, non–benefited, 6 months or less)

DEPARTMENT: Alta Canyon Sports Center – Parks and Recreation

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Alta Canyon Office Coordinator, oversee and operate the concession stand by performing a variety of duties. Operate and help to maintain functions of the equipment and act as a manager in handling paperwork and money associated with the Snack Bar.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: One year of experience in customer service, cashiering, and computers required. Must be 16 years of age. Must have or be able to obtain a food handler permit. . Bloodbourne Training is required within 30 days of hire. Responsible for serving customers in a friendly, professional, quick, and efficient manner. Opening/closing cash register and depositing money received into the safe. Keeping the concession area visually pleasing, clean and safe for customers. Inspecting and maintaining an efficient and sanitary food preparation area in accordance with all City, County, and State Health regulations. Good Communication Skills; constant contact with customers face-to-face; furnishing and obtaining information; using tact and judgement; follow written and verbal instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city employees and customers. Use of office equipment such as cash register, microwave, popcorn machine, Nacho machine, and other equipment. Ability to apply general principles and policies effectively to specific conditions, ability to handle confrontational situations and make sound decisions.
