O&G Industries, Inc., seeks a full-time Concrete Dispatcher for our Bogue Road location in Torrington.

The ideal Dispatcher has some experience at scheduling and organizing large numbers of people and trucks efficiently to best serve the customer. Dispatching is like chess - you need to know how each piece moves in order to be any good at it. Also, like a game, knowing what comes next is the key to keeping our concrete operation running efficiently so we can take good care of our customers.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Knowledge and skill to schedule and track daily deliveries efficiently and safely
• Work closely with customers, drivers, and batch plant operators
• Flexible and cooperative to ensure delivery schedules are met
• In-take of customer orders and calculation of concrete yardage and pricing
• Schedules and prioritizes loading of ready-mix trucks with customers’ orders, gives clear route instructions to drivers, and instructs drivers of delivery requirements and job site conditions

Qualifications include:

• Demonstrated organizational and strong customer service skills
• Ability to work in a busy environment
• Enjoys working closely with others
• Reliable and willing to work early hours
• Previous experience in the ready-mix industry and/or as a dispatcher is preferred
