Snyder Engineering, Inc., is a multifaceted Steel Fabrication Company involved in the fabrication of structural steel components and specializing in miscellaneous steel structures of stairs and handrails.

The job duties and requirements are:

Major Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with clients over the phone and electronically to ensure they stay informed.
  • Act as liaison for the project to the client, other departments, and subcontractors to ensure the completion of the project within parameters.
  • Review the contract for scope and schedule of the project.
  • Assess feasibility and purpose of customer requests.
  • Make site trips to confirm measurements, site conditions, and attend construction meetings.
  • Create a clear definition of scope, issuing RFI’s, reviewing, managing, and distributing the drawings and documentation throughout the entire project.
  • Work with engineer/detailer to resolve detail questions.
  • Work with estimating on the creation of change orders for additional work or services to be performed.
  • Attend all project related meetings.
  • Determine the sequence and schedule of project with the client and erection subcontractor to coordinate deliveries at appropriate times.
  • Manage subcontracted detailers, reporting any incidents to the lead project manager for recording in the approved vendor list.
  • Create and manage the technical summary.
  • Create a schedule of valuation and track earned value throughout the course of the project, completing pay applications as required for finished work, and follow-up to collect when needed.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensure they have up-to-date information, get their drawings, and track their deliveries and schedules.
  • Assure quality and fulfillment of requirements through the entirety of the project.
  • Manage client relations, engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction aspects of the project as well as the finance; cost engineering, schedule, environmental and regulatory requirements creating responsibility matrices if necessary.
  • Manage the RFI process, reviewing potential items identified by the project team and initiating RFI’s into the log system, assuring that all information is received with the appropriate documentation, and performing a regular review of outstanding RFI’s to confirm they are concluded.
  • Establish with the erection subcontractor site specific erection and safety plans.
  • Coordinate schedule with other disciplines on the project.
  • Prepare close out reports.

Authorities related to the job function:

  • Maintain contact with the customer in all aspects pertaining to the project.
  • Contact vendors and subcontractors in any aspect pertaining to the management of the project.
  • Resolve customer issues pertaining to the project.
  • Change project scope per executed purchase order.
  • Request engineer, detailing, or estimating assistance.

Position Qualifications:

  • 3- Years’ experience in construction, engineering, or fabrication design.
  • General knowledge of codes and specification requirements.
  • General knowledge of cost of materials and labor/project requirements.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detailing and shop fabrication background helpful, but not required.
  • Associates or BS degree in construction management or related field preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
