Job description
SJ Thomas is seeking a Project QCM that is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day production, schedule adherence on a particular project and ensuring that the project meets the design and quality standards as outlined in the construction documents.
Responsibilities include:
- Review of the Contract Drawings.
- Check to assure that all materials and equipment have been tested, submitted, and approved
- Examination of the work area to assure that all required preliminary work has been completed and is in compliance with the Contract.
- Examination of required materials, equipment, and sample work to assure that they are on hand, conform to approved Shop Drawings or submitted data, and are properly stored.
- Review of the appropriate activity hazard analysis to assure safety requirements are met.
- Verify adequacy of controls to ensure full Contract Compliance.
- Verify required control inspection and testing are in compliance with the Contract.
- Establish level of workmanship and verify that it meets minimum acceptable workmanship standards. Compare with required sample panelsas appropriate.
- Resolve all differences.
- Check safety to include compliance with and upgrading of the safety plan and activity hazard analysis. Review the activity analysis with each worker.
- Coordinate scheduled work with Special Inspections required by Specifications
- Review all submittals, track the submittal and RFI review and approval proces
Qualifications
- The CQC System Manager is required to be a graduate engineer, graduate architect, or a graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 5 years construction experience
- required to have completed the Construction Quality Management(CQM) for Contractors course. (This course is periodically offered by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and the Army Corps of Engineers.)
