JOB DESCRIPTION: Controls Technician-Engineering

offers technical assistance to the installation team, production, and engineering throughout the manufacturing process. engages in continuous improvement operations to reduce downtime, cycle times, scrap, and increase efficiency in order to enhance OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) metrics. identifies, installs, and maintains control systems throughout the facility. It also troubleshoots them. verifying the production process. creates work standards using the most recent tools, machines, and equipment, and keeps thorough records. provides other personnel with work guidance and training. Helps with PMs and carries out other tasks as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB: Controls Technician-Engineering

Work at level I is somewhat complicated, challenging, and calls for program or project management expertise. usually calls for independent problem solving and decision-making of control systems, with general direction offered on overall project objectives and with specific guidance on program complexity. Prioritization, processes, and issues—rather than specific data points—are the focus of decisions, which are often of moderate organizational risk but may have long-lasting effects. primarily entails work of the intermediate level. Level II work is complicated and challenging in nature and calls for program or project management abilities in addition to deep technical and comprehensive business knowledge. requires individual problem solving and decision-making, with general project objectives and overarching business strategy and goals providing general direction. the capacity to design and deploy comprehensive robotic, ladder logic, and vision applications. uses a great deal of discretion when deciding on the precise project goals and assignment strategies. Decisions frequently have a significant negative influence on the organization and pose a risk with potentially long-lasting consequences. primarily entails work at the senior or advanced level.

1. Offers technical assistance during all stages of manufacturing to the setup team, manufacturing, and engineering.

2. Takes part in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, cycle times, scrap, and increase efficiency in order to enhance OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) metrics.

3. Diagnoses, locates, implements, and maintains control systems, such as PLC, vision, robotics, and servo.

4. Performs manufacturing process verification using manual records or by putting automated controls in place.

5. Establishes work standards for the latest machinery, tools, and equipment in the assigned area and keeps correct records.

6. Gives other employees work guidance and training. carries out additional tasks as required.

7. Take the lead in independently investigating, identifying the underlying cause, and putting immediate and long-term corrective measures in place for out-of-tolerance process variance and equipment downtime.

8. To establish a solid process and solutions, communicate with process engineering and support staff.

9. Contributes to the creation and application of standards, job instructions, and quality procedures. comprehends the quality policy of Magna Mirrors Holland and ensures that ISO/IATF systems are being followed.

Responsibility for the Environment, Health, and Safety

performs all work in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as Magna Mirrors - Holland Mirrors safety and environmental policies and procedures. Recognize the significance of following all environmental and safety management systems' emergency response as well as safety and environmental protocols.

Inform his or her supervisor of any unsafe situation or behavior.

Inform his or her supervisor of any work-related injuries within eight hours.

Never operate a machine or piece of equipment unless instructed on how to do so by the employer and has been given the go-ahead.

Never take away, move, destroy, or carry off any safety measure or obstruct someone else from using it.

Use the necessary personal protection equipment or tools as needed.

Recognize your obligation to adhere to environmental programs, such as ISO14001. Recognize the current or possible environmental repercussions before departing from the established work instructions.

Attend training on environmental, health, and safety as necessary.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCES

all control systems, including PLC, Vision, Robotic, and Servo, are troubleshooted and repaired as part of this service.

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade I

A minimum of three years of expertise troubleshooting PLCs, Vision Systems, Robotics, and/or Servo Systems, or a B.S. degree in a field of Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering Technology. The following manufacturers' prior experience is preferred: Siemens, Fanuc, Denso, Cognex, Keyence, GVI, Yaskawa, Bekhoff, and Wago are a few examples.

2. Proven ability to establish communication with all control systems in the assigned domain for programming and troubleshooting purposes.

3. Exhibited effective verbal and writing communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with others and communicate with internal and external contacts. Must be able to guide, mentor, and assist other employees.

4. Strong problem-solving and project management abilities to work on projects autonomously with little supervision.

Stage II

1. Significant relevant job experience, or the equivalent, and the ability to create a whole program for a robotic or PLC system.

2. Solid commercial acumen, including understanding of company objectives and systems, and strong technical expertise in the field of production engineering. recognizes the interconnectedness of departmental operations and assesses how well systems, technological tools, and/or procedures are working in order to improve and correct output.

3. The ability to solve complex problems at work that demand significant creative and original thinking in order to define/determine project and information requirements, investigate and coordinate information, assemble data, make inferences, and present it in order to sway opinions, decisions, and actions.

4. The capacity to design and oversee projects that call for a long-term (often five or more years) strategy and attention.

5. Ability to supervise and direct the work of others, organize and assign staff for tasks or projects, and help with the evaluation and review of personnel performance.

6. Leadership abilities that have been shown to serve as a team or task force leader for particular projects, work for team consensus, contribute to team goals and objectives, and motivate team members to participate in tasks and activities by taking initiative and experimenting with new ideas.
