The Rady Shell, through its expanded culinary program The Shell Provisions, offers a wide variety of fresh, locally-sourced options ranging from casual to upscale. Our partners feature some of San Diego’s most talked-about favorites, including Celebrity Chef Richard Blais, Urban Kitchen, Biga, Lola 55, Achilles Coffee, Bread & Cie, Dolce Desserts, Marketplace Grille and Kitchens for Good. Chef Blais returns with a brand new “Blais by the Bay” pre-order menu for the Marina, Coronado Row and Skyline Terrace sections. In addition to the pre-order dinner menu and Blais Boxes, a limited menu will be available from your seats in the Marina, Coronado Row, Skyline Terrace, and Bridgeview sections.

We are currently seeking Cooks at the Shell Provisions.

Responsibilities of a Cook include, but are not limited to:

• Maximize customer satisfaction and support by assisting in executing catered events and functions in accordance with Centerplate standards, guest expectations and specifications as per Event Orders and catering contacts.
• Provide a variety of duties related to culinary operations, including preparation of hot and cold food items.
• Follow Centerplate culinary standards to ensure that food product is of the highest quality in taste and appearance to satisfy guests.
• Uphold Centerplate’s standards for guest service, safety and sanitation.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Cook in a mid to large volume operation
• Knowledge of basic cooking fundamentals to produce standardized recipes efficiently
• Proficient in handling of all kitchen equipment to include: slicers, knives & mixers
• Hotel or restaurant experience
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and in a fast paced environment

Other requirements:

• Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work in extremes of cold to heat.
• Must be able to exert well-paced mobility to maneuver quickly among different areas of the facility.
• As a condition of employment, proof of COVID vaccination may be required (subject to limited exceptions).
