Job description

The goal of the Pre-Matriculation Readiness for Ongoing Medical Student Success (PROMIS2U) Program at the University of Utah School of Medicine (SOM) is to recruit and prepare more physicians to enter the primary care workforce and serve in rural, tribal, and medically underserved areas. Because research shows that physicians from such backgrounds are more likely to return to serve in their communities, PROMIS2U also aims to recruit and prepare pre-medical students from such backgrounds.
The PROMIS2U Coordinator acts as the first point of contact for the program and provides administrative support for the PROMIS2U program. This includes but is not limited to administratively supporting the co-directors, overseeing scheduling and calendars for PROMIS2U courses and events, and coordinating between PROMIS2U and other campus offices. The PROMIS2U Coordinator is also expected to assist with the implementation of PROMIS2U programming including a monthly speaker series, interview days, and welcome and graduation events.
Our generous University staff benefits package includes but is not limited to: health care and dental plan options, tuition reduction, UTA pass (Bus, TRAX, & FrontRunner), paid holidays, paid leave time, employer and employee paid retirement, and more!

Responsibilities
  • Supports PROMIS2U co-directors with document preparation, and email correspondence, serving as a liaison to other Dean’s Office, health sciences, and main campus offices, web development, calendaring, and communications.
  • Supports wellness coach and research and teaching faculty involved in the program.
  • Provides course coordination for PROMIS2U students (submitting course descriptions, reserving rooms as applicable, working with faculty to submit grades, corresponding with Course Directors, updating Canvas site(s), etc.).
  • Works with SOM Office of Admissions on annual software updates, implementing PROMIS2U interview days, and admissions-related communications to applicants.
  • Works with SOM Office of Educational Quality Improvement and Health Resources and Services Administration Grant Medical Education Project team on program evaluation, student tracking, etc.
  • Works with SOM Office of Student Affairs to coordinate required training, immunizations, information technology access, badging, financial aid distribution for living expenses/excess of tuition, and coordination for on-campus housing.
  • Coordinates programming and event planning for PROMIS2U.
  • Other duties as assigned.
