Position Summary Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree earned by start date
- One to three years of experience working in college housing. Two years of GA experience is equivalent to one year full-time.
License/Certification Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in College Student Development, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field
- Full-time experience working in college housing
- Experience working with Maxient and/or StarRez software
- Crisis and case management experience

Case Management for Student Wellness and Conduct
- Work 1:1 with students and the Housing Administration staff regarding room changes, consolidations, occupancy reports, withdrawals, etc.
- Assist in ensuring mid year student moves are processed correctly by building staff and damages are assessed and charged.
- Complete summer responsibilities including, but not limited to summer school, orientation, and special projects.
- Assist with the selection and training of all student staff members.
- Supervise students in various aspects of job responsibilities.
- Assist in the implementation of housing assessment.
- Serve on departmental and divisional committees, workgroups, and taskforces as needed.
- Along with the Residence Life staff team, develop and assist in achieving University Housing department goals.
- Discuss, implement and evaluate policy-making decisions affecting Residence Life.
- Attend staff training and professional development events in University Housing and Student Development.
- Attend and participate in Residence Life meetings.
- Meet weekly with the Assistant Director of Residence Life.
- Develop and complete a professional development plan.
- Perform work as delegated by the Senior Associate Director of Residence Life and supervisor.
Facilities Management
- Serve as liaison with Facilities related to building maintenance, day-to-day issues, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, construction and planning and projects
- Keep complete and accurate information of all residence halls including building rosters, room condition forms, emergency contact information, key inventories (hall and staff), etc.
- Directly oversee all residence hall opening/closing processes in conjunction with departmental leadership, hall staff and campus constituents and coordinate the damage billing process Lead Housing staff in the organization and execution of transition period processes (break periods, academic term transitions) as well as coordinating procedures with necessary stakeholders regarding check-in, check-out, early arrivals, late departures, and approvals to stay during the break
- Perform key audits.
- Serve as primary communication for emergency moves for students. Ensure emergency spaces are turned over and in good condition. Work closely with students impacted throughout the process.
- Maintain monthly contact with building maintenance staff, housekeeping staff, support services staff, and building supervisors.
- Assist Facilities Coordinator in completing fire drills for halls including recruiting student staff to assist, communicating with students, and logging appropriately.
Residence Education
- Be accessible, visible and present to students in the building and area.
- Assist with summer staff apartment occupancy and transitions. Responsible for inventory, damage billing, pet forms, and CORT orders related to staff apartments.
- Assist with facilitation of special projects that happen in residence halls.
- Serve on task forces and assist Assistant Directors with collateral assignments.
- Develop collaborative relationships with campus partners.
Crisis Management
- Schedule and facilitate student break duty.
- Provide leadership to staff and students during crises in the residence hall and in the greater campus community.
- Become familiar with and follow institutional and departmental guidelines regarding emergencies
- Serve in on-call rotation for campus of 6,200 students.
Case Management for Student Wellness and Conduct
- Create, edit, update, and review on-call, crisis response, and other documents under the direction of the Senior Associate Director of Residence Life.
- Serve as a hearing officer for student conduct cases
- Clearly communicate, interpret and enforce department and university policies to staff and students.
- Serve as a resource or referral for information concerning University life.
- Serve in an on-call duty rotation to support staff emergency response during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
