Job description

Responsible for processing courts related to employment/volunteer background screening applications. Accountable for working within client and credit reporting agency guidelines in order to provide minimal turnaround and high-quality results on requests. Each request must be handled professionally and in a timely manner, adhering to company policies and procedures. The position is fast paced, requires tremendous attention to detail and the ability to work within a team environment is required.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process searches in response to client pre-employment background screening requests
  • Functions positively on a team

  • Ability to produce work of the highest quality level.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems. Searches and retrieves missing or confirming information from various sources including an applicant’s history and other completed criminal searches.
  • Quantity of Work- Ensures the completion of individual search.
  • Sense of urgency to meet client and organizational expectations
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment, as well as act independently
  • Strong computer skills, including internet and Excel. Must be able to work off an Excel Spreadsheet
  • Ability to communicate with manager when needing additional information
  • Ability to adhere to processes, procedures and guidelines during the execution of tasks and assignments.
  • Ensure all services required by clients are completed properly and in accordance with company procedures and client scope of work
  • Adjudicate records based on scoring matrix set by clients in a timely manner with extremely high level of accuracy
  • Provide timely follow-up and follow-through on all applicable client questions and/or concerns stemming from an adjudication result
  • Releases information and documents in accordance with the Public Information Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other applicable laws and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines, regulations and processes where applicable while exercising judgment and reasoning abilities to solve problems.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and analyze information and exercise good judgment.
  • Strict Confidentiality Standards

REQUIREMENTS:

  • H.S. Diploma Required, Associates Degree or Higher Preferred; preferably in Criminal Justice
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate via written or verbal methods
  • Great attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to produce work of the highest quality level.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills, including internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook and PC Based applications.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in the background screening industry
  • Prior military, police or business-intelligence experience a plus
  • Prior criminal research, adjudication and/or quality experience a plus
