Do you have a passion for bringing out the artistic creativity of young people? We are looking for a dedicated professional who takes pride in not only their work but guiding and instructing young people to foster a culture of creative expression and achievement. We want our program to be a vibrant and creative space for all members, regardless of abilities. This position will lead long-term individual and group projects (like murals), funky introductory art classes, creative movement instruction, and so much more.
This role puts you in the driver's seat in terms of the impact that creative arts programming can have on our participants each day. The relationships we are able to build with our members is what makes this work worth doing. The primary focus for this position will be on our middle school programs, located in Stoneham & Wakefield.

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement a creative arts curriculum that engages youth of different ages and abilities.
• Make sure program space is organized and clean.
• Always think outside the box fostering creativity.
• Curriculum planning and maintaining necessary supplies.
• Create/implement/run community programming based around your specialty.
• Be prepared to create/implement/run summer specialty programming based around your specialty.
• Ensure that all services are offered in accordance with health & safety policies and procedures.
• Provide and communicate program direction to all staff in partnership with the Unit Directors.
• Strive to meet the organizational goals for inclusion.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In partnership with the site leadership, help to maintain an overall safe and nurturing atmosphere.
• Become familiar with all BGC/EEC policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings as needed.
• Inform the site leadershop of any problems or concerns in and around the sites.
• Assume other duties as specified by supervisor.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Four year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth-serving organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to deal effectively with members in active youth working settings.
• Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
