Position: CSE/Screener

Location: 1700 Education Ave, Punta Gorda, FL

Pay: Bachelor starts at $18.00/hour and Masters starts at $44,869.80/year based on experience

Sign-on: FT $1,000 PT/PRN $500

Shifts: Full-time, Part-time, and PRN available

Position Summary

• Responds to urgent and crisis behavioral health needs of individuals and families
• Assists persons by telephone, telehealth and by walk-in
• Provides crisis evaluations for persons who present to any CBHC program/facility
• Obtains collateral information from persons who are familiar with the client in order to assess the level of risk
• Makes clinical determination of mental status, suicidality, homicidality or self-neglect of persons who receive emergency evaluation service
• Refers to licensed provider for involuntary assessment as needed.
• Assists patients who do not need inpatient stabilization with setting up outpatient appointments or with referrals to external community resources
• Assists the unit Clinicians with processing referrals, telephone calls, obtaining collateral documentation and any other clinical assistance that may arise
• Provides information regarding mental health and substance use diagnosis and treatments
• Completes up-to-date documentation in accordance with the internal and external audit standards
• Position requires less than 10% travel

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in human services field.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in behavioral health field required. Experience working with individuals in crisis or substance use is preferred.

• Ability to pass Level II Background clearance, drug test (CBHC is a drug free workplace)
• Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
• Computer proficiency.
• Attention to detail.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
