Position OverviewThe Grand River Dam Authority is a primary energy provider to municipal public power authorities throughout the state of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. This position will work collaboratively with other members of the Municipal Customer Relations Team (CRT) to explore, develop, and complete programs, projects, and initiatives that assist and serve the public power communities in their mission to provide affordable, reliable municipally-owned power to their citizens.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as a member of the Municipal Customer Relations Team (CRT) with a focus on coordination and completion of defined programs and initiatives on behalf of GRDA’s municipal public power customers.
- Works collaboratively with other divisions within the GRDA to solicit assistance, project participation, forward planning, and execution of power related projects on behalf of municipal utility authorities and their staff members.
- Develop and sustain close working relationships with municipal authority managers, councils, and utility boards in furtherance of their service to their constituents and customers.
- Serve as a primary liaison between divisions of GRDA and GRDA public power communities for the purposes of advancement of programs related to, but not limited to, distributed generation (DG), electric vehicle and charger programs (EV), community solar programs, and other programs determined by GRDA leadership to be critical to the future success of GRDA public power communities.
- Assist the Community Relations Manager in meetings, community initiatives, and outreach in continued enhancements of the relationships between GRDA and the communities served by GRDA.
- Work in collaboration with members of the Corporate Communications Team in the development and implementation of messaging beneficial to GRDA municipal public power communities and their customers.
- Work closely with the GRDA Economic Development Manager as an additional resource in the development and ongoing economic development and grant support roles as designated for our GRDA public power communities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of and experience working with federal, state, tribal, county, and local government.
- Proven ability to manage projects and initiatives, working in a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals, or ability to quickly learn, the contractual partnership between GRDA and the public power municipal customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to address meetings and individuals.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and the navigation of analytics and document production and enhanced PowerPoint presentations.
- Successfully multi-task in a fast-paced working environment in office and on the move.
- 7+ years of municipal government, civic organization, or electric utility experience, with an emphasis on customer service or related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study.
- Valid driver’s license
- This position requires some evening and weekend travel and meeting requirements.
- This position will require significant time at an assigned work station at either the Engineering and Technology Center in Tulsa or the Administrative Center in Chouteau.
