Customer Service at American Medical Technologists (AMT) is all about the experience our members and applicants have when they work with us. You’ll be joining our Certification Experience Department as Certification Experience Team Member as you work with our members or applicants through their journey in applying for their certification to annual dues for continued certification. You will also assist our partners (schools & employers) in understanding requirements for AMT certifications. You’ll support inquiries via phone, email, and live chat systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Provide accurate certification information to members or applicants by responding to a high volume of phone calls, emails, and live chat support sessions daily.
· Process documents and applications, as appropriate, based on legitimacy and graduation details, work experience, or CEs earned to accurately update or complete the record.
· Maintain and update AMT’s customer database with member information, as necessary. Enter detailed notes to record key information after each call or electronic encounter.
· Answer all questions with minimal supervision while utilizing tact, diplomacy, and patience.
· Escalate calls to other departments or leadership, as necessary.
· Process payments by credit or debit card, create invoices, reauthorize applicants for testing, and advance member certification cycles, as required.
· Submit requests internally, or to another department, on behalf of applicants and members to complete the customer’s transaction including unlocking accounts, merging duplicate records, refunding online courses or application fees, etc.
· Meet department standards for call quality, call volume, accuracy, database record notation, and response times.
· Protect the security of sensitive customer data.
· Attend department meetings and collaborate with the team to improve support.
· Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education, Skills, Background
· High School Diploma or GED
· 6 months to 1 year of Customer Service Experience, ideally working with phone & email channels.
· Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining high data entry accuracy and exhibiting empathy.
· Excellent communication skills including, reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
· Experience with data entry, accessing database information, and use web-based systems.
· Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
· Work completed in a remote home office setting; local area applicants would have the option for a hybrid schedule
The position is mostly remote, with occasional travel to the office.
