Position Summary: The La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians is seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Customer Service Representative to join our team at the La Jolla Adventure Park. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the retail operations, selling bike parts, campground merchandise, shuttle tickets, and providing exceptional customer service. You will also support our bicycle repair services to ensure that all guests have a positive and memorable experience at our resort.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties are considered essential for this job classification:

1. Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions about products, services, and resort facilities including the campground.

2. Process sales transactions, including bike parts, clothing, shuttle tickets, and other campground necessities, using a point-of-sale system, and handle cash and credit card payments accurately.

3. Assist customers with selecting appropriate bike parts, clothing, and accessories, offering expert advice and recommendations based on their needs and preferences.

4. Coordinate with the bike repair team to schedule and manage repair appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service for customers.

5. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment, restocking merchandise and conducting regular inventory checks as needed.

6. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in the mountain biking industry, including new products, technologies, and riding techniques.

7. Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer concerns and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

8. Collaborate with other resort staff to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests, while prioritizing safety and satisfaction.

9. Assist with special events and promotions, such as sales, bike demos, and group rides, as needed.

10. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians' mountain bike resort operations.

11. Ability to work 10-hour shifts on a 4-day work week

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in a related field, such as retail management or marketing, is a plus.

2. Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or the cycling industry is strongly preferred.

3. Knowledge of mountain bike components, accessories, clothing, and repair techniques, with a passion for the sport and a commitment to staying current on industry trends.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff from diverse backgrounds.

5. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and basic office applications.

6. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.

7. A commitment to promoting the cultural heritage and values of the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians, and a dedication to providing a positive and enjoyable experience for all resort guests and staff.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

INDIAN PREFERENCE POLICY: In accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (25 USC 472), preference filling this vacancy will be given to qualified Indian candidates who present proof of eligibility for Indian Preference.
