Intercity Transit is recruiting a Cybersecurity Program Manager who will monitor networks and report any anomalies, recommend a plan, and deploy any remediations to address vulnerabilities. They will coordinate security activities between the Information Systems division and other divisions and departments and responsible for internal cybersecurity audits, compliance, and remediation. The successful candidate should have the ability to teach and lead while also being part of a dynamic team that likes to have fun and still brings their “A” game every day!

Examples of Duties

As the Cybersecurity Program Manager, you will:

  • Gather and analyze threat intelligence. Monitor computer networks for security issues and vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate planned security measures to protect information from unauthorized or accidental modification, destruction, or disclosure. Participate in the evaluation, development and implementation of security standards and procedures for multiple platforms. Develop specifications for network security and protection technologies. Assist with manning anti-virus and anti-spam systems.
  • Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
  • Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
  • Coordinate mitigation of detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard and a hardened environment.
  • Coordinates the efforts of security vendors, contractors, and staff to ensure maximum use of security equipment and software. Deliver regular high quality cyber security awareness training to staff.
  • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security and develop incident response and mitigation plans.
  • Conduct routine cyber table-top exercises. Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Typical Qualifications

Are you the one we are looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of increasingly responsible cybersecurity experience in medium to large organizations OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
  • One or more of the following certifications are preferred: Security +, ISACA: CISA/CISM, ISC2: CISSP. Other cybersecurity industry certifications may be considered.
  • Washington State driver’s license or the ability to respond in a timely manner to issues arising throughout the Intercity Transit service area on a 24/7 basis.
  • You must be willing to submit to a criminal background investigation, the results of which must meet the agency’s hiring criteria.
  • Knowledge of relevant cybersecurity frameworks; current cybersecurity best practices; TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP; fundamental computer forensic skills; advanced network principles and concepts; and Cloud platforms (such as Azure and AWS).
  • Skilled in the ability to research and learn new information; advanced troubleshooting skills; defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing conclusions, and making appropriate recommendations; excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication; troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network, and peripheral problems; preparing reports; and audit and compliance.

  • Currently this position is working hybrid remote with an occasional need for additional onsite work; an ability to work from home (i.e., reliable Wi-Fi, confidential space) is essential.

  • $420 cell phone allowance semi-annually.
