The ideal candidate will have group fitness or dance experience and feels comfortable in teaching workout style moves. Must be able to efficiently explain and demonstrate exercises, provide modifications and progressions accordingly, and physically lead clients through our high-intensity, sweat-inducing classes! Positive, team-player attitude that can inspire our clients from the moment they walk in the door, all the way through their fitness journey. Groove offers the ability to teach multiple classes styles and the ability to grow in a supportive and fun environment!

WHO ARE WE?

Groove is a revolutionary dance fitness technique rooted in dance and movement to give fun and meaning to our workouts. Groove combines dance cardio with high intensity exercises to deliver a high-energy, efficient, and fun workout with only the best beats. Including our flagship “twerkout” class for some booty shaking fun. Clients will be hit with R&B throwbacks, chart topping hits, and fun remixes. The ever-changing curriculum provides a full-body workout that keeps muscles guessing, ensuring members never plateau and are always excited for their next class.

REQUIREMENTS

• Love of fitness is a must – dance experience is HIGHLY recommended
• Experience teaching group classes, and demonstrate effective group class instruction
• Charismatic, tenacious, positive, and motivational teaching style
• Punctual, reliable, and dedicated
• Desire to build a successful business in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, effective, and empathetic communication skills, with a focus on customer service
• Must have current (or be willing to obtain) valid CPR/AED certification
• Suggested availability to teach evenings, and early weekends (at least 2 classes per week)
• Must be available to audition either in-person or by video submission
• Once accepted, Trainees must be available for a mandatory training program in which they will learn the fundamentals of the Groove curriculum
• Attend staff meetings and required educational presentations

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide signature, energetic dance workouts pursuant to Groove standards
• Instruct clients using proper form, safe methods, and modifications
• Follow the Groove format to classes, motivate students and answer questions
• Be a motivating and inspiring force in the community
• Maintain a clean and orderly workout environment and assist with class setup and clean up
• Support studio growth by promoting retail, studio events, and classes
• Build class attendance and retain current clientele through professional interaction
• Attend staff meetings and required educational presentations
• Assist front desk and General Manager with the studio tour, check-in, and sales as needed
• Maintain a strong, professional social media presence to increase class following
• Other duties as assigned

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• This position offers a competitive flat rate per class you teach; based on experience & performance

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Huntington Beach, CA 92648: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Group fitness: 1 year (Preferred)
• Dancing: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
