We support public company Compensation Committees on all matters relating to executive and director compensation. We also support venture-backed, pre-IPO companies, providing research and recommendations relating to executive compensation, founder/CEO compensation, the design and implementation of employee option plans, and considerations specific to the transition from pre-IPO to public company programs.

Compensation Data Engineer
Compensia is looking to expand our organization’s data strategy function, through improved automation, data research and analytics. We are currently interviewing candidates for a full-time, Data Engineer position. This role will report to our Data Strategy Manager, and will assist in building and maintaining Compensia’s internal data function and produce critical support and analytics that will enable Consultants to better utilize data, operate more efficiently and ultimately provide improved advisory services.
Primary day to day activities include:
- Design and implement data flows and overall model
- Develop, implement and maintain data warehouse and ETL/ELT solutions, including performance tuning activities
- Develop data entry forms and/or templates to standardize client data ingestion
- Maintain dataset inventories and related documentation
- Integrate external data sources with internal data platform applications
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve existing analytics and apply best practices and industry standards
Desired qualifications include:
- Strong understanding of common data warehouse modeling schemes and experience with design and implementation. Experience with Postgres preferred
- Experience building data pipelines; extensive experience with data processing and ETL/ELT techniques
- Strong understanding of SQL Engines and able to conduct advanced performance tuning (including query optimization, normalization, and denormalization rules)
- Familiarity with data exploration / data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and high commitment to quality and accuracy
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and operate successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Self-starter that is intellectually curious, and has the ability to work well both independently and as part of a larger distributed team environment
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000. Actual salary may vary depending on factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, and experience. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus and a full range of employer offered benefits.
