The Camera and Depth Hardware team is looking for a multi-talented software engineer with experience in cloud technologies to build and maintain big data systems which enable our cross-functional team of hardware engineers and researchers to make data-driven decisions on how to make our cameras even better.
Key Qualifications
- Strong Python experience required, additional experience with MATLAB is a bonus.
- Experience writing REST API's
- Experience with message-based architectures using Kafka or another message broker
- Understanding of containerized, scalable application deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) and monitoring (Splunk, Prometheus)
- Experience in relational and/or NoSQL database systems such as Oracle Database, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB, etc.
Description
This role is an outstanding blend of DevOps Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering and Full-stack web app development. Example responsibilities include: - Develop, test, and maintain reliable and scalable REST APIs and client tools to enable data exploration - Build beautiful visualization tools to express complex datasets - Work with 3rd-party hardware suppliers to define and manage data streams and interfaces - Solve distributed computing problems using concepts like map/reduce and scatter/gather - Engage with internal product teams to solve big data engineering problems, from simulation to manufacturing
Education & Experience
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $217,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
