Position Responsibilities:
A Database Administrator has experience in managing the routine operations and maintenance of databases and ensuring their reliable and efficient performance.
The OneVA TRM application is a .Net web application linked to a Microsoft SQL server database. The application consists of three websites: TRM Internet site, TRM Intranet site, and TRM Authoring site. The TRM Internet site is a presentation version of the site that is deployed to the internet and viewed by the public. The TRM Intranet site is available within the VA firewall and presents information as well as creates user requests. The TRM Authoring site is where the internal users of the TRM process users’ requests, create entries, view reports, and process entries for approval. The TRM websites contain pages providing web-based database searches, multiple database update forms, and multiple scripts, along with a suite of reports.
The following languages are employed within the TRM application: ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, Entity Framework, JQuery, AJAZ, and Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML). The application is hosted in the VA Microsoft Azure Cloud managed by the VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) Service team which also provides system administration services for those servers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. Eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Public Trust – Tier 2 (Moderate Risk) Clearance or the ability to obtain one
