Job Description: Delivery Driver

Position Summary:

This position will be doing deliveries AND assembling products (grills/wheel barrows/etc) for Greenville, RI, Seekonk, MA, Fall River, Fairhaven, and Pembroke. Each day of the week (5 day rotation) the driver will be scheduled for one of those stores, picking up the van and dropping the van off in Fall River daily.

The delivery driver is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading delivery vehicles and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. Delivery Drivers must be organized, efficient, and professional with a constant commitment to safety in all types of weather conditions while ensuring deliveries are made accurately and with a positive attitude.

Essential Duties:

• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery for total order completion, correct charges, and satisfied customers.
• Assisting with loading and unloading of items from vehicles.
• Accepting payments for delivered items.
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients with a positive, understanding attitude.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle and report any maintenance problems to supervisor.
• Assembly of grills, patio sets, outdoor power equipment and other products as needed.

Other responsibilities as assigned by store management.

Language Ability:

• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Speak effectively before diverse groups of customers or employees.

Math Ability:

• Calculate figures and amounts and apply basic concepts of math.

Reasoning Ability:

• Effectively manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with only limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Ability to safely drive throughout assigned route in all types of weather and road conditions.
• Ability to accurately verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong on the job or with a customer.

Computer Skills:

• Ability to process information and/or merchandise though a register system if needed.
• Knowledge of recordkeeping software a plus

Certificates and Licenses:

• Must be able to pass a Complete Background Screening, Motor Vehicle License Verification, and
• Current and active driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no major accidents and no more than 2 moving violations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Flexible work schedules due to demand of retail industry environment.

Physical Demands:

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

• Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.
• Willing and able to lift 100 pounds and work with a pallet truck and forklift.
• Bending, climbing and twisting are routine; the position requires the ability to retrieve, stock, and move product.
• Manual dexterity; working with handheld devices, assembly of some products; ability to quickly make appropriate change for customers.
• Ability to safely and repeatedly enter and exit the vehicle throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
