Delivery Driver/Yard Helper

Independence Excavating is looking to hire an ambitious and self-motivated Delivery Driver/Yard Helper to join our team in Sterling, VA. In this position, you will move equipment daily from jobsites and yard locations.

A typical day looks like:

• Transporting tools, parts, small equipment, etc., from yard or vendor locations to job sites, or from job site to job site, all over the DC metro area
• Loading and unloading trucks with required tools, parts, small equipment, etc., and placing them at designated locations once destination is reached
• Restocking supplies, performing light maintenance on equipment, vehicles, our shop and similar duties
• Keeping accurate paperwork in order to track the location of each item every time it is moved to a new location
• Performing miscellaneous yard and/or shop duties as needed
• Maintaining cleanliness of assigned vehicle on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• A Valid VA driver’s license with clean driving record
• Must possess a strong work ethic, be a dependable and trustworthy addition to our field support team
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with co-workers and suppliers
• Must be able to lift over 70lbs, plan routes, contribute ideas, be part of a team and do all with safety as your primary concern
• Ability to Travel through the week
