We are looking for a mission driven Pediatric Dental Specialist to join our team! The Pediatric Dental Specialist provides focused dental care for pediatric and special needs dental patients in multiple practice settings including outpatient clinics, surgical centers, and hospital based operating rooms. Provides daily leadership of the back-office pediatric dental team including any assigned Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, and Sterile Technician. The PDS Dentist works in conjunction with the Dental leadership to deliver high-quality dental care with industry-leading clinical outcomes in an effective team-based environment in accordance with accepted dental practice standards and policies.
This is a full-time position located on our satellite clinic (S. 84th St.). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; generally, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.
To ensure the safety of our patients, employees, and communities, OneWorld Community Health Centers is requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 effective November 15th, 2021. Exemptions may be granted for religious or medical accommodations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Graduation from an accredited dental school with a degree of Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) required.
2. Active, valid, unrestricted license to practice as a Dentist in the state of Nebraska; or license eligibility.
3. Advanced Postgraduate Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry required.
4. Active, valid, unrestricted sedation permit required, upon approval of pediatric sedation services by OneWorld’s Board of Directors.
5. Board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) required if providing services at facilities that require certification. For recent graduates, board eligibility is acceptable as long as certification is obtained within five years of becoming board eligible.
6. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration required.
7. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
8. Three or more years of experience as a dentist required. Proficiency across all dental disciplines, as well as dedication to continuing education in all areas of general practice, expected.
9. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Dental Record preferred.
10. Proficiency in English required; proficiency in Spanish preferred. Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to culturally diverse patients, as well as other providers and staff members.
11. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team of diverse, multi-disciplinary dental professionals in alignment with OneWorld’s core values of respect and customer service.
12. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of general dentistry and oral surgery.
13. Ability and willingness to serve as an active surgical staff member of a hospital used by OneWorld Community Health Centers, which includes other requirements as part of the privileging process.
14. Ability to be credentialed and approved by OneWorld’s Board of Directors.
15. Ability and willingness to travel to and from multiple work locations for coverage purposes as needed.
